This policy explains what personal information IMS Services collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is written to meet our obligations under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through this website we collect the details you give us: your name, your business name if you provide one, your email address, your cellphone number, the town or suburb you are in, and whatever you write in the message. We also collect the information you give us over the phone or by email when we quote on or carry out work for you.
Why we collect it
We use your details to answer your enquiry, to quote on work, to carry out and support that work, and to invoice you for it. We do not use them for anything else. We do not sell them and we do not pass them to anyone for marketing.
Who we share it with
We share your information only where it is needed to do the work you have asked for, for example with a supplier arranging a warranty repair or with a service provider whose product we are setting up on your behalf. We also share it where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and job records for as long as we need them to support the work and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Once that period has passed we delete them.
How we protect it
We keep your information on systems that are password protected, kept up to date and backed up. No system is perfect, so if anything happens that puts your information at risk we will tell you and report it to the Information Regulator, as POPIA requires.
Cookies
This website uses only the cookies it needs to work and to keep the enquiry form secure. It does not use cookies to follow you around other websites.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You may also object to the way we are using it. Email info@imsservices.co.za or phone 066 220 8423 and we will deal with the request.
Complaints
If you are not happy with the way we have handled your personal information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the way we handle information changes. The version on this page is the current one.
