Almost every IT problem starts with a device. A laptop that will not boot, a printer that has quietly dropped off the network, an accounting package that stopped opening after an update. We supply the hardware, install and license the software that runs on it, and fix things when they break.
Setting you up with the right machine
Before we quote on hardware we ask what the machine is actually for. A till computer, a design workstation and a laptop used mostly for email are three different purchases, and the most expensive option is often the wrong one. We supply desktops, laptops, printers and accessories from Asus, HP, Dell, Epson and Canon, and we tell you plainly where spending more will make a difference and where it will not.
Repairs, upgrades and rescues
Slow machines are usually fixable. A drive swap, more memory or a clean reinstall will often buy a working computer several more years, at a fraction of what a replacement costs. We also handle the jobs nobody enjoys: recovering data off a failing drive, resurrecting a machine after a power surge, or sorting out a laptop that has been dropped.
Software installation and licensing
We install and license the software you rely on, from operating systems and Microsoft 365 to the accounting and industry packages your business runs. Licences are registered in your name, not ours, so you keep control of what you have paid for. If you are unsure what you currently hold, we can go through it with you and cut anything you are paying for twice.
New machine setup and data migration
A new computer is only useful once everything is on it. We move your files, set up email so it collects the way it did before, reconnect the printer, install your software, and check that the machine is backed up before we hand it over. You should be able to sit down and carry on working.
Support once you are running
Things break at inconvenient times. Phone us and describe what the machine is doing, and we will start with the quickest route to a fix, whether that is a remote session, a bench repair or a visit to your premises.
Common questions
Can my laptop be repaired, or should I replace it?
Most slow or unreliable laptops are worth repairing, and we will tell you when yours is not. A drive swap, more memory or a clean reinstall often buys several more years for a fraction of what a replacement costs. Replacement makes more sense when the screen, board or hinges have gone on an older machine, because the parts start approaching the price of something new. We give you both numbers and you decide.
Do you supply new computers, and which brands?
Yes. We supply desktops, laptops, printers and accessories from Asus, HP, Dell, Epson and Canon. Before quoting we ask what the machine is actually for, because a till computer and a laptop used mostly for email are different purchases and the most expensive option is often the wrong one. Buying through us means the machine arrives set up, licensed in your name, with your files already moved across.
How long does a typical repair take?
Repair time is driven by two things: what the fault turns out to be, and whether a part has to be ordered in. A clean reinstall or a memory upgrade with the part on hand is often a same-visit job. Waiting on a component from a supplier is out of our hands. We give you a realistic estimate once the machine has been looked at, not before.
Can you move my files to a new machine?
Yes, and it is part of every machine we set up. We move your documents, photos and data across, set email up so it collects the way it did before, reconnect the printer, install your software and check the backup is running before we hand the machine over. We can also do the migration on a computer you bought elsewhere. Bring both machines, or the old drive if the laptop no longer starts.
Do you work on Apple machines as well as Windows?
Windows is where most of our repair work sits, and the rest of what we do is not tied to one operating system. Microsoft 365, email, file migration, printers, Wi-Fi and network faults are handled the same way on a Mac. For a hardware fault on an Apple machine, phone us with the model and what it is doing, and we will tell you honestly whether it is a job for us or one to send elsewhere.
